Hot Rolled Beams have an “I” or “H” shaped cross-section and a high strength to weight ratio that provide excellent strength and stability for framing and structural support across a multitude of industries including general building construction, bridge construction, ship construction, and railroad construction.
Hot Rolled Beams can be categorized into 2 types: I-Beams, also known as American Standard beams or S-Beams, can be characterized by their “I” shaped cross-section and tapered flanges. Wide Flange Beams, also known as W-Beams, can be characterized by their “H” shaped cross-section and flat, parallel flanges.
